STREET PARADE
Zurich, 2024
I spent around eight hours photographing inside the crowds of Zurich’s Street Parade, staying as close to the action as possible. Rather than documenting the event from a distance, I moved with the people, surrounded by heat, noise, bodies, smoke and constant movement.
The camera stays close to gestures, faces and fragments of bodies — moments of celebration, intimacy, absurdity and exhaustion. As the hours passed, the physical intensity of the day increasingly became part of the work itself. The resulting series is less a record of the event than an attempt to capture what it felt like to be inside it.
